Mumbai, Nov 29: Himachal Pradesh registered a thrilling 3-wicket win over Jammu and Kashmir in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy match at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BKC, Mumbai on Friday.
Jammu and Kashmir after early hiccups scored a fighting total of 173 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process.
Vivrant Sharma top scored with 39 runs off 24 balls studded with 2 fours and 3 sixes, while Yudhvir Singh contributed brisk 29 runs off 13 balls with four and 3 massive sixes and Qamran Iqbal scored 29 runs off 27 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Abdul Samad 14-ball 22 and Auqib Nabi 9-ball 14 gave impetus to the innings and guided J&K to reach a good total.
For Himachal Pradesh, Vaibhav G Arora and AS Jamwal bagged 2 wickets each, while MJ Dagar, Arpit Guleria and Mukul Negi claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Himachal Pradesh rode on magnificent half-centuries by MJ Dagar and AR Kalsi and scored 177/7 in 19.3 overs, thus won the match by 3 wickets.
Dagar scored 65 runs off just 38 balls with 8 fours and one six, while Kalsi contributed 57 runs off 47 balls with 5 fours.
Auqib Nabi was the most successful bowler from J&K, who took 3 wickets by conceding 28 runs in his 4 overs, while Rasikh Salam and Yudhvir Singh took 2 and 1 wickets respectively.
