Jammu, Oct 06: Team-B got the better of Praful Challengers in a thrilling contest by 2 wickets in the T20 match of the ongoing series of preparatory matches to select MIET Jammu College team for forthcoming Inter-Collegiate tournament at Country Cricket Stadium, here.
Batting first, Praful Challengers scored a modest total of 105 runs in the stipulated 20 overs.
Ankit Badyal top scored with 24 runs, while Shamshad Malik, Vansh Godgotra and skipper Praful Dhar contributed 18, unbeaten 14 and 13 runs, respectively.
For Team-B skipper Ashish and Keshav Sharma took 2 wickets each by conceding 19 and 11 runs respectively, while Divansh Rajput and Rayyan Ahmed claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Team-B chased the target in 19 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process, thus won the match in an exciting contest by 2 wickets. Ashish top scored with power-packed 34 runs, while Vansh Budhgal, Karan Tickoo and Waseem Imtiyaz contributed 19, 15 and 14 runs to the total respectively. Praful Dhar, Nishant Saini and Saver Fotedar, while Nitin Kumar and Ankit Pandita claimed 1 wicket each.
At one point of time Ashish was going great guns, scoring 34 off just 19 balls, before Praful dismissed him with a beauty, adding worries to the Team-B camp.
However, the tailenders of Team-B held their nerves in the crunch situation and scripted a thrilling win.
