Handwara, Oct 22: Member of Parliament (MP) Baramulla and Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) president, Engineer Rashid on Tuesday strongly condemned the recent terror attack in Gangangeer, Ganderbal, saying that violence is never a solution to any problem.
Speaking to the media persons at GDC Handwara here, Rashid said the continued cycle of violence will not bring meaningful change.
The MP stressed the value of human life and called for all parties involved to prioritise peace over conflict. “We have lost a valuable doctor and many innocent lives. Human life, whether it belongs to a civilian or anyone else, must be respected,” he said.
Appealing to local and external actors, the AIP chief reiterated that violence is not the answer to resolving Kashmir’s issues. “I urge everyone to choose dialogue. Violence can’t take us anywhere. All issues, no matter how complex, must be addressed through negotiations,” he said.
Rashid urged all stakeholders to abandon violent means and seek lasting solutions through peaceful dialogue.
The MP Baramulla also accused the political leaders, particularly Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of shifting focus after the elections. “While Omar Abdullah initially campaigned for the restoration of Articles 370 and 35A, after winning the elections, the focus changed to passing resolutions on statehood. This is an injustice to the people,” he said.
