Srinagar, Oct 09: Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen, chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front (J&K PDF), on Wednesday congratulated National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice president Omar Abdullah on their party’s landslide victory in the recent J&K Assembly elections.
In a statement issued here, Hakeem expressed hope that the National Conference will honour its commitments regarding the full restoration of statehood to Jammu & Kashmir, as well as the reinstatement of Article 370 and Article 35A.
“The people of Jammu & Kashmir have delivered a decisive verdict in favour of the National Conference and have their expectations for the fulfillment of promises outlined in the party’s election manifesto,” he said, adding that the people have given an “absolute majority” to the National Conference based on these commitments.
