JAMMU, Oct 04:
The BharatiyaJanata Party (BJP) has commenced its strategic “Plan B” to establish a government in Jammu and Kashmir, with National General Secretary Ram Madhav at the forefront of discussions with independent candidates and smaller Kashmir-based parties.
Madhav, who has been appointed as Co-Incharge for the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, has been specifically tasked by the BJP high command to lead these efforts following the abrogation of Article 370. He played a pivotal role in the formation of the BJP-People’s Democratic Party (PDP) alliance, which marked the BJP’s first involvement in the J&K government.
In the last Assembly elections, the BJP secured 25 seats, while the PDP won 28. Madhav was instrumental in framing the Agenda of Alliance with the PDP, allowing the BJP to enter the government for the first time in J&K.
