Budgam, Sept 26 : As the second phase of assembly elections nears in Jammu and Kashmir, the voters of the Charar-i-Sharief assembly constituency have expressed their concerns regarding various development issues that have persisted for years without resolution.
Syed Farhat, a voter from the Charar-i-Sharief constituency, informed Rising Kashmir that the lack of adequate staff and facilities in health centers has resulted in daily challenges for residents of numerous villages. He emphasized the necessity for the government to enhance the workforce in these health centers and to ensure that all essential services are made available, allowing the community to benefit from improved healthcare.
“The government must provide proper infrastructure and laboratories in government schools so that students can receive a higher quality of education,” he said.
Farhat further urged the government to prioritize the promotion of tourist destinations such as Yousmarg, Nilnag, and Haijain Brenwar. He advocated for the development of appropriate infrastructure at these sites to attract visitors, which would also create income opportunities for unemployed youth in the area m
Another voter, Faizan Ahmad said that the recent increase in electricity tariffs in rural areas of the Kashmir Valley has led to substantial monthly bills for many families living below the poverty line. He called on the government to take necessary measures to reduce electricity costs for those in the BPL category, enabling them to manage their monthly expenses more effectively.
“The Charar-i-Sharief Constituency has a huge number of farmers who are earning their source of income from the agriculture and horticultural sectors. The government should provide crop insurance for all the crops, free seeds and proper road connectivity towards horticulture and Agriculture lands through which the farmer’s community can earn a good source of income from both sectors. It will also boost the income of the farmers, “he said.
Shaziya Bano, a female voter, emphasized the necessity for the government to implement comprehensive schemes across all government departments aimed at assisting unemployed youth. These initiatives would enable educated young individuals to secure their livelihoods.
Furthermore, Bano highlighted the urgent need for a fire station in the Sursyar villages, which would benefit residents from various nearby villages.
She also pointed out that many villages within the Charar-i-Sharief constituency lack proper road connectivity. The government must take essential actions to provide adequate roads to all villages in the constituency.
