Jamia Babul Ilem students excel in Qur’anic studies alongside modern education

Budgam, Feb 28: In a remarkable achievement, two students from one of the oldest oriental colleges in Kashmir, Jamia Babul Ilem, in Mirgund, Budgam have successfully memorized the holy Qur’an.
Muzamil Ahmed Dar and Mohammad Jaffar Dar, both were enrolled in 2019. They underwent an inclusive educational journey encompassing both modern and religious teachings at the institution.
“Jamia Babul Ilem, affiliated with the University of Kashmir, has been a stalwart in providing a blend of contemporary and traditional education for over five decades. With a current enrollment exceeding three hundred students, the institution stands as a beacon of holistic learning,” the institution said in a press release.
Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas, the management representative of Jamia Babul Ilem, expressed gratitude towards the relentless efforts of Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safavi, President of Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman-E-Sharie Shian. He highlighted the institution’s commitment to nurturing students who are equipped to thrive in today’s competitive landscape, offering both modern amenities and religious instruction free of charge.
Under the diligent guidance of the management, students at Jamia Babul Ilem follow a rigorous schedule, beginning with Hifiz classes after the Fajar prayers until 8:30 am, the college said, adding, “Subsequently, they engage in modern education classes until 4:00 pm, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience. Evenings are dedicated to further Hifiz classes from Maghrib till Isha prayers, reflecting the institution’s dedication to fostering comprehensive development.”
Aga Syed Mujtaba reiterated the institution’s mission to produce individuals capable of navigating the scientific advancements of society, underscoring the importance of providing a balanced education that encompasses both spiritual and intellectual growth.
