Udhampur, Aug 07: GDC Neeli Nallah Udhampur organized a Quiz competition on “Freedom Struggle and National Heroes” followed by a plantation drive within the college premises under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” for the celebration of 77th National Independence Day on Wednesday.
The whole event was conducted under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Seema Arora, Principal of the college. The event started with the quiz competition that was witnessed by the Principal, Teaching &non teaching staffas well as the students of the college.In the competition Team A and Team B participated, and questions were posed to test their knowledge and understanding about India’s Freedom struggle and its Unsung Heroes. Team A emerged victorious.
The observers of the team were Dr. Sunil Tanoch, Prof. Rekha Sharma, Prof. Shaista Yasmeen the event was conducted by the Convenor of the program, Dr. Maansi Sharma. The principal of the college shared her valuable words with the students and said that the struggle of our freedom fighters are the source of inspiration to us as they teach the value of love for the country and always worked for the betterment of the nation behind the scene. She lauded the efforts of the organizing team and the students.
Followed by a quiz competition, the college also organized a plantation drive within the premises of the college under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” in which the students’ planted trees under the supervision of Prof. Shaista Yasmeen, NSS PO. The Principal emphasized that the conservation of nature and natural resources in order to ensure transformation of legacy to future generations for the preservation of Environment and Ecosystem. The event blended the intellectual engagement and community service thereby serving the purpose of the holistic development of the students.
