Srinagar, July 30: Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, Vijay Kumwar Bidhuri, extended a warm invitation to all citizens to join the Independence Day celebrations on August 15 at Bakshi Stadium. This year’s event is set to be grand, and the public is encouraged to participate in the festivities.
“In anticipation of the celebrations, extensive preparations have been made. Attendees are requested to carry their identity cards and arrive at the venue as early as possible. There are no restrictions on participation. This inclusive approach has been made possible through the cooperation and enthusiasm of the community,” Bidhuri said.
He also noted that both Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and the Chief Secretary have urged the public to join the celebrations, emphasizing the importance of coming together to mark this significant day.
In response to a query, Bidhuri announced that normal schooling would resume on Wednesday, following improved weather conditions. The suspension of schools today was a precautionary measure due to recent high temperatures, ensuring student safety during extreme weather.
The Divisional Commissioner also highlighted ongoing infrastructure improvements in Srinagar, particularly under the Smart City project. He mentioned that night inspections are planned to ensure timely completion of these projects, reflecting the administration’s commitment to urban development and modernization.
