Srinagar, July 29: In a significant development following the improved security situation in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370, several prominent Bollywood directors are set to visit Kashmir on August 1. The visit aims to explore opportunities for film and documentary shootings in the region.
Notable directors including Madhur Bhandarkar, Rahat Kazmi, Karan Johar, Paraag Mehta, and Mir Sarwar will be accompanied by acclaimed actors. Their visit is expected to revitalize film and documentary production in Jammu and Kashmir, reminiscent of the industry’s activity in the pre-1990s era.
The delegation will participate in the ‘J&K Film Conclave,’ organized by the Information Department on August 1st at SKICC, Srinagar. In addition to the conclave, the directors and actors will explore various locations across J&K for potential film and project shoots.
“Join us at the J&K film conclave on Aug 1 at 10 AM at SKICC-Srinagar, the spokesman of Information Department said, while adding, “the event will feature the launch of single window portal for film shooting permissions and subsidy”.
The conclave will also showcase award-winning films from the Naya J&K short film-making competition and honour the competition’s winners.
