CII J&K, USAID, JAKEDA host capacity building workshop on Rooftop Solar Vendor Rating Program

Jammu, July 27: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Jammu and Kashmir, in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA), organized a successful capacity building workshop on the Rooftop Solar Vendor Rating Program. The event took place at Taj Vivanta, City Centre, Jammu, on Saturday.
The workshop aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of stakeholders in the rooftop solar sector regarding the importance of quality, safety, and performance in rooftop solar installations.
Dr. MA Alim, Vice Chairman, CII J&K, welcomed the participants and emphasized the crucial role of the vendor rating program in promoting sustainable and reliable rooftop solar adoption.
Ms. Monali Zeya Hazrab, Clean Energy Specialist and Mission Environment Officer, USAID/India, highlighted the relevance of clean energy and the significance of the Solar Vendor Rating Program in ensuring quality and safety standards.
Dr. PR Dhar, Chief Executive Officer, JAKEDA, delivered a special address, highlighting the impressive growth of solar power in India and outlining the promising future of solar energy.
The workshop included detailed discussions on the Rooftop Solar Vendor Rating Program, led by Atul Dhir, Objectiveead-RE, SAREP, and K Muralikrishan, Principal Counsellor, CII – Godrej GBC. They presented the program’s methodology, eligibility criteria, and the numerous benefits for certified vendors.
VRP-certified vendors shared their experiences and best practices, presenting case studies on successful rooftop solar installations and the advantages of participating in the VRP program.
The event was attended by prominent members of CII J&K and solar power vendors from across Jammu and Kashmir. The workshop provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and fostering collaboration in the region’s growing rooftop solar sector.
