JAMMU, July 27: Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal announced on Saturday that the central government is formulating a strategy to eradicate terrorism and ensure peace in Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking at a press conference at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Meghwal emphasized that peace is essential for development and investment in the region.
“We will eliminate terrorism from J&K,” Meghwal asserted. He highlighted that the Union Budget has laid a strong foundation for achieving the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat-2047’. He criticized the opposition for creating a false narrative to mislead the public.
Meghwal dismissed the opposition’s claims that the Constitution is in danger, noting that this propaganda was rejected by the public in the recent Lok Sabha polls. He also addressed accusations from opposition parties that the Union government is treating non-NDA ruled states unfairly, pointing out that the Budget mentions states like Bihar and Andhra Pradesh without bias.
Meghwal challenged the opposition’s claims by citing his home state of Rajasthan, which was not mentioned in the Budget. “When roads are expanded, wouldn’t it be done in Rajasthan too?” he questioned, arguing that the opposition is raising these issues to mislead people.
Regarding the recent spike in terror activities in Jammu, Meghwal stated that peace is a prerequisite for development and investment. “If there is no law and order problem, investment flows freely. We are working on a strategy to ensure that terrorism is effectively dealt with and peace is maintained in the Jammu region,” he said.
