Srinagar, Feb 02: The Gindun Sports Stadium Raj Bagh Srinagar echoed with the cheers and applause of enthusiastic spectators as the District Srinagar Ball Badminton Championship 2023-24 reached its exciting conclusion on Friday under the banner of the “My Youth My Pride” initiative by the J&K Sports Council.
Organized by the District Srinagar Ball Badminton Association in collaboration with the J&K Ball Badminton Association, the two-day championship witnessed fierce competition among 12 teams comprising 120 players from various schools, colleges, institutions, and clubs across District Srinagar.
The tournament, generously sponsored by the J&K Sports Council, aimed at promoting sportsmanship and providing a platform for young talents to showcase their skills. The Gindun Sports Stadium transformed into a battleground for badminton prowess, displaying a vibrant blend of talent, dedication, and sportsmanship.
Surinder Ambardar ji, Ex MLC & Senior Leader BJP, graced the occasion as the chief guest during the concluding function. The Guest of Honours included Adv Sheikh Salman (IT Head BJP J&K), Majid Khan (Social Activist), and Arsheena Ashraf (General Secretary Ball Badminton Association). Together, they presided over the awards distribution ceremony, recognizing the outstanding performances of the winning and runner-up teams.
Addressing the participants, Surinder Ambardar ji and Adv. Sheikh Salman commended the displayed sportsmanship and encouraged the budding players to remain focused on their game. They urged the young talents to continue striving for excellence, emphasizing the importance of bringing laurels to the state of Jammu and Kashmir on the national sports stage.
Expressing gratitude to the District Srinagar Ball Badminton Association for organizing the championship, the dignitaries acknowledged the crucial role such events play in nurturing and showcasing the sports talents within the region.
