Budgam, July 11: Police have established a Muharram Sabeel in Magam town of central Kashmir’s Budgam district, where water is being distributed to mourners and passers-by. People have hailed this initiative.
Yawar Hussain, a local, said the Jammu & Kashmir Police have set an example by providing various forms of support to the people.
“J&K Police has always made such arrangements during the month of Muharram, distributing water and juice to mourners and passers-by in remembrance of Karbala,” Hussain said.
He said that the people of Magam town and its surroundings have also commended the Budgam police for taking such initiatives during this month of Muharram. This is a prime example of humanity that everyone should follow during Muharram, he added.
Gulshan Jan, a student, said police were offering water and juice to everyone passing through town. “A special team of Budgam Police, along with the Station House Officer of Magam, personally distributed water to the mourners and passengers passing through the main market in Magam,” she said.
