Budgam, July 03: A man from Uttar Pradesh drowned in Nallah Sukhnang at Yarigund Kawoosa village in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday afternoon.
According to an official from the Police Post Narbal, the 27-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh was selling blankets with three others in Yarigund Kawoosa village. He said that due to the heat, one of the men decided to take a bath in Nallah Sukhnang and tragically drowned.
Following the incident, the police from Police Post Narbal and Police Station Magam, along with the SDRF Team, initiated a rescue operation and recovered the body from the river.
“The body was then taken to the Sub District Hospital for further treatment, where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival,” the official said.
The deceased was identified as Aurangzeb, son of Mohammad Sultan Qureshi, a resident of Rampora Saharanpore in Uttar Pradesh, currently residing in Chankipora Sopore.
