SRINAGAR, JUNE 28: The Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) has unveiled the winners of the ‘Naya Jammu Kashmir Short Film Making Competition’, aimed at promoting local talent and highlighting developmental strides in Jammu & Kashmir.
Among the entries judged by Bollywood filmmakers Padma ShriMadhurBhandarkar and Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, Ompal Singh Sambyal’s meticulously crafted “Melting Stones” secured the top position. Following closely are SandeepBhagal’s “I am Valmiki” in second place and Sumaiya Mir’s “Women Athletes of Kashmir” in third. Consolation prizes were awarded to AtulVinodDuggal for “Viksit Jammu Kashmir”, IrtizahYousuf and MantashaBintiZahoor for “Naya Kashmir”, and Raghunandan Singh Charak for “Unicorn”.
The selected films, showcasing the creativity of Jammu and Kashmir’s artists, will soon be screened. Jatin Kishore, Director of Information and Public Relations, congratulated the winners and participants while thanking the jury for their invaluable contributions.
With this, the hugely successful and unique initiative of the Department of Information and Public Relations concluded on a very positive note.
The initiative was aimed at identifying local talent, encouraging them and giving them a platform to showcase their unique skills and immense potential to the fullest. The competition also envisaged showcasing of the positive developments and progress achieved in Jammu and Kashmir through the lens of local filmmakers.
