JAMMU, Feb 06: The Police on Monday have arrested seven persons while six others were detained for pelting stones on Police personnel and other officers and creating law and order problem during anti-encroachment drive in Malik Market area of Narwal, Jammu, Police said.
Police said Some more people could also be arrested as the investigation and questioning from the arrested and detained persons is going on, Police sources said.
“The questioning from the arrested as well as the detained ones is going on and some more people could also be arrested for pelting stones and creating law and order problem and obstructing anti-encroachment drive,” SHO Narwal, Nayat Ali told Rising Kashmir.
Sources said that Police has collected evidence and is also going through CCTV footages collected from different spots.
Three Police personnel were injured in the stone pelting on Saturday last week during drive against encroachment wherein the State Land was being retrieved over which a vehicle showroom was raised in Malik Market area of Narwal, Jammu.
The owner of the showroom, is also among the arrested people, Police said.
