Ganderbal, June 13: In yet another reminder of the growing road safety concerns in the region, a road accident occured in the Mammar area of Kangan in Ganderbal district on Friday, injuring six people.
According to officials, the incident occurred when a Swift car (JK16/8419) and an Alto car (JK15A/8669) collided head-on while coming from opposite directions. The impact of the crash was severe, causing injuries to all six occupants travelling in the two vehicles.
The injured have been identified as Faisal Ahmad, son of Ghulam Nabi, resident of Zandhuna, Ganderbal, Shaheena, daughter of Khursheed Ahmad Khan, resident of Asham, Bilal Ahmad, son of Abdul Salam, resident of Chundhuna, Ganderbal, Irshad Ahmad Khan, son of Abdul Samad, resident of Asham, Shaboo, resident of Asham, Shagufta, daughter of Mohammad Afzal, resident of Bandipora
All the injured were immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital Kangan for treatment.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated necessary legal proceedings.
