4 killed  in  road accident

Udhampur, Nov 28: Four people died in a road accident near Prem Mandir, Champedi area of Chenani Tehsil in Udhampur district on Monday according to police sources.

Police sources revealed that an Alto car (JK19-1449), which was on its way from Gool-Sangaldan area to Udhampur, skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge at around 0845 hours at Champedi area of Chenani, resulting in on spot death of two persons and injuries to two others.

According to police officials, the injured were taken to District Hospital Udhampur where they succumbed to their injuries during treatment.

The deceased have been identified as Tadil (16) son of Gulzar Malik, Hajira Begum (50) wife of Jamal Din, Jamal Din (65) and his son Abdul Hamid (32), all residents of Gool Sangaldan.

Police have shifted the bodies of the deceased to the mortuary of the hospital for conducting the post-mortem and registered a case under relevant sections of the law. Further investigations have been taken up.  

Meanwhile Lieutenant general Manoj Sinha has expressed his  anguish over the tragic accident.  ” Deeply anguished to learn about the loss of lives in the road accident in Udhampur. my deepest condolences to the bereaved family in this hour of grief. In an official tweet LG sinha ,” LG tweeted.He directed the administration to provide all possible assistance to those involved in the accident.
