Baramulla, Feb 09: Jammu and Kashmir police Thursday said that it solved a burglary case within 72 hours by arresting four persons involved in the commission of crime in Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and recovered stolen property from their possession.
A police official said that on 05th February 2023, Police Station Pattan received a complaint from Ghulam Hassan Rather, a resident of Pakhipora Pattan regarding a burglary.
The officials said that the complainant stated that during intervening nights of 1st and 2nd February-2023, some unknown burglars barged into his shop and stole cigarettes and other items.
A case vide FIR No. 32/2023 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Pattan and investigation was initiated.
Police said that during the preliminary course of investigation, with the help of technical and human resources names of some suspects came to surface, one among them identified as Azad Mukhtar Hajam son of Mukhtar Hajam resident of Singhpora Pattan was identified and was called for questioning,
“After thorough interrogation, Azad Mukhtar Hajam disclosed that he along with three more persons are involved in the commission of crime, who were subsequently arrested in the instant case”, the police official said.
Police identified them as Altaf Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohd Dar resident of Reshipora Hanjiwera, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Rasool Bhat resident of Singhpora Pattan and Jamshed Ahmad Waza Ghulam Mohd Waza, a resident of Singhpora Pattan.
The police official said that on their disclosure stolen property alongwith tools used for burglary were recovered from their possession.
“They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody,” he said.
