Baramulla, July 01: Police on Saturday booked 34 persons and seized their bikes for violating the traffic rules in the Tangmarg and Kuner areas of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A police official told Rising Kashmir that a team from Police Station Kunzer led by SHO Waseem Jahangir and SHO Police Station Tangmarg Tawseef Habib seized 34 two-wheelers that were found involved in stunt biking and triple riding. All violators were booked, he said.
A case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at both police stations and an investigation has been taken up, the official said, adding that the purpose of the drive was to “check and eradicate traffic violation and provide a safe road for law-abiding citizens”.
It was also aimed at acting as a deterrent for future violators, he said while advising people to ride carefully, wear helmets and follow traffic rules.
