22 candidates file nominations papers on final day from Srinagar PC

39 candidates in fray, scrutiny of nomination papers on April 26

Srinagar, Apr 25: 22 more candidates submitted their nomination papers on the final day for filing nominations for the 2024 LokSabha Elections in the 02-Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency, taking the total number of candidates vying for the Srinagar LokSabha Seat to 39.
As per the details available with Rising Kashmir, among those who filed their nominations were Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi from the Jammu Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) and Salman Sagar, also from the JKNC as a covering candidate.
Similarly, Hakikat Singh from National Panthers Party Bhim, RakeshHandu from J&K National United Front, Amir Ahmad Bhat from Democratic Progressive Azad Party and Qaiser Sultan Ganai covering candidate of Democratic Progressive Azad Party also submitted their nomination papers before the RO 02-Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency,
Likewise, AshiqHussain from Rastriya Jan Kranti Party, Mohammad YousufBhat from GanaSuraksha Party, SurayaNissar from National Republic Party of India and Farooq Ahmad Bhat from National Youth Party also filed Nominations from 02-Srinagar LokSabha Seat.
The Candidates who filled their Nomination papers as Independent Candidates for the include WahidaTabasum, Dr.Qazi Ashraf, FidaHussain Dar, Abdul Hamid Rather, Arun Kumar Raina, BansiLalBhat, SaquibRahmanMakhdoomi, ShadibHanief, Javaid Ahmad Wani, Jehangir Ahmad Sheikh, Shabir Ahmad Malik and Sajad Ahmad Dar.
With the filling of 22 Nominations on Thursday which was the last Date of Nomination Filing, the total number of Candidates who filed their Candidature reached to 39 as Seventeen Candidates have already filed their Nominations papers.
The scrutiny of these nomination papers is scheduled for April 26, 2024, and candidates have until April 29, 2024, to withdraw their candidature.
Voting in the constituency is set for May 13, 2024, during the 4th Phase of the elections, with vote counting scheduled for June 4, 2024.
