Jammu, Jan 13: In preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP unit in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has taken a significant step by reaching out to 3,000 polling booths and finalising the booth-level strategy, the party said on Saturday.
“With a total of 6000 polling booths in Jammu province, the BJP launched an extensive programme on Dussehra, October 24 of the previous year, aiming to connect with all 6,000 polling booths in Jammu province,” former minister and BJP General Secretary, Dr Devender Manyal informed Rising Kashmir.
Highlighting the objectives of the programme, he said, “The aim was to reach out to the people at each booth and make them aware of the Modi government’s schemes, besides assigning responsibilities to Panna Pramukhs in their respective polling booths.”
Dr Manyal informed that over 2,900 programmes and meetings have been conducted in approximately 3,000 polling booths in Jammu, with some booths yet to be covered in the snow-bound areas of Doda, Kishtwar, and other regions.
The detailed groundwork and information gathered from the polling booths will be uploaded on the party’s official website, he said, adding, “This data was intended to be conveyed to BJP National President J P Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah. Unfortunately, due to inclement weather, both leaders were unable to visit Jammu.”
As part of the initiative, the BJP had assigned polling booth presidents and 100 youth (below 40 years) to conduct meetings in all polling booths of Jammu, to enhance the party’s grassroots outreach in preparation for the upcoming elections.
