Srinagar, Oct 31: To mark the 147th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, National Unity Day was celebrated at 10th SSB Batamaloo in which many activities were organized.
The aim of the program was to spread the message of national integrity, unity, and spirit of “Rashtriya Ekta” throughout the Kashmir valley as well as for peaceful, coexistence among the people despite having diversities.
To make the day memorable, several events were organized at 10thBn SSB Batmaloo Srinagar (J&K), including Unity Run, Pledge Taking Ceremony, and March Past.
Further, to commemorate the day, units under SHQ (Spl Ops), SSB Srinagar participated in the March Pastat 10 Bn SSB Srinagar (J&K). Sh. Mukesh Kumar, Commandant, 2ndBn SSB, Sh. Kamal Kant, Commandant, 13thBn SSB, and officers &Officials of SHQ (Spl Ops), SSB Srinagar (J&K) and its units (2nd,10th, 13th& 14thBn) were present to mark event.Sh. Mukesh Kumar, Commandant, 2ndBn, SSB, the chief guest for the March of the parade, highlighted the importance of “RashtriyaEktaDiwas”.
He said stressed the importance of unity in a country with so much diversity in culture, language, and belief,
“We should take a pledge on this day to strive to protect our country and have to dedicate our services and life for the progress of the nation,” Shri Kumar said.
The programme ended with the vote of thanks of Sh. R.S. Rawat, 2nd-In-Command, Offg. Commandant, 10thBn SSB Batmaloo, Srinagar (J&K).
Besides the above, special campaign 2.0 (SwachhataPakhwada) has been conducted in the vicinity of 10 Bn SSB Srinagar (J&K) from 1st to 31st October.
The oath ceremony was attended by the senior SSB officers and Jawans. The Pledge taken by officers and Jawans reads as “I solemnly pledge that I dedicate myself to preserving the unity, integrity, and security of the nation and also strive hard to spread this message among my fellow countrymen.
“I take this pledge in the spirit of the unification of my country which was made possible by the vision and actions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. I also solemnly resolve to make my own contribution to ensure the internal security of my country”, it said.
