Srinagar, Jan 30: A Ten day’s short course on” Information and communication Technology as Vital Education tools for the Development of Local Communities” kick started on Tuesday at Directorate of Extension SKUAST-K. The training is organized by Directorate of Extension in collaboration with ICAR. The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi Director Extension SKUAST-K. The Programme witnessed the participation of Scientists from Directorate of Extension, participants from all over India and from varsity.
Prof. Makhdoomi apprised the audience about the importance of Information and communication Technology in the extension system. He highlighted the importance of Information and communication Technology tools for the extension system as well as its impact on every aspect of education from teaching- learning to assessment and evaluation. He appreciated the ICT scheme in the name of Drone Didi for ladies working in the field which will not only enhance their overall performance but also encourage the farmwomen to solve other assorted barriers and receive plenty of benefits through precision agriculture. It paves a way to use drones to gather data on crop health, allowing farmers to identify areas that require attention.
