PSPS college’s prog on govt portals and IT tools concludes

Jammu, Dec 16: The IT Committee and Department of Computer Applications in Collaboration with IQAC of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Govt.PG College for Women Gandhinagar concluded the one-week faculty development program on “Govt. Web Portals and IT Tools” here on Friday.
The program ended with a lecture on handling smart boards by Dr. Namita Singh, Assistant Professor of Computer Applications at MAM College Jammu.
The valedictory session started with the formal welcome of the chief guest, Prof. Minu Mahajan, the Principal of the college, Dr. Yash Paul, Coordinator of IQAC and Convenor of the program Dr. Aran Kumar, Convenor IT Committee, Prof. Kamlesh Slathia, Dean Sciences, Prof. Mamta Gupta and other senior faculty members-the galaxy of intellectuals as participants.
Prof. Suman Bala presented a comprehensive report about the topics covered during the week-long literary odyssey. The roadmap of the FDP was designed to discover modern productivity strategies with the hands-on practical implementation of various Govt. Portals introduced recently with the growing trends in Higher Education.
Amit Sharma, Assistant Professor of Computer Science and IT, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu; Ankush Raj, Assistant Professor of Computer science, GDC Doda; Dr. Gotam Singh Lalotra, Assistant Professor of Computer Applications, GDC Basholi ; Dr. Preeti Dubey, Assistant Professor of Computer Applications, GCW Parade; Dr. Sonam Gandotra, Assistant Professor of Computer Applications, GDC Ramnagar and Dr. Namita Singh, Assistant Professor of Computer Sciences, MAM College, Jammu were the Resource Persons. They deliberated upon various Digital Tools, e-Samarth Portal, System Based Comprehensive Performance Appraisal, GEM, AEBAS, JK HRMS & EPM, and techniques of handling Interactive White Boards, Video-Conferencing & Screen Sharing respectively.
Prof. Minu Mahajan applauded the efforts of the team for organizing the FDP diligently which will help the faculty of Higher Education in handling these portals and make them digitally literate. She also congratulated the participants for successfully completing this development program.
The proceedings of the program were conducted by Prof. Suman Bala. Dr. Yashpaul, Convenor of the program and the members of the Organizing Committee – Prof. Aran Kumar, Convenor IT Committee; Prof. Rohit, Prof. Rahul, Prof. Ashok, Prof. Javaid Iqbal, Prof. Sugandha Mahajan, Prof. Abhinav Sharma and Prof. Ruchi Charak remained instrumental during the Programme.
