Wreath laying ceremony for slain Cop Fayaz Ahmad held at Kokernag

In order to pay honour and respect to martyr police personnel Fayaz Ahmad resident of Lohersanzi, Kokernag Anantnag, who was injured in a terror attack on 12/07/2022 at Lalbazar & attained martyrdom today, a wreath laying ceremony was held at his native village.

According to a statement issued here, Officers of Police led by DIG IRP Kashmir, Commandant IRP-10th Bn, Commandant IRP-13th Bn, Commandant IRP-17th Bn, Dy. Commandants of IRP-10th Bn, 13th Bn, DySsP of IRP-10th & 11th Bns, SDPO Kokernag and SHO Kokernag, other senior Police Officers/Officials & locals of the area participated in the ceremony and laid floral wreaths on the mortal remains & paid rich tributes to the martyr for his supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.

Pertinent to mention here that on 12/07/2022, terrorists fired upon a Naka party near G.D Goenka Public School area of Lal Bazar Srinagar, resulting in martyrdom of ASI Mushtaq Aham and injuries to two personnel namely, HC Fayaz Ahmad and SPO Abu Bakar. 

ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar on behalf of J&K Police Parivar conveyed heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the family of the martyr for his supreme sacrifice made in the line of duty. 

“We pay our rich tributes to the martyr for his supreme sacrifice made in the line of duty and stand by his family at this crucial juncture”, he said.
