Srinagar, Sep 09: In observance of “World First Aid Day,” Fire & Emergency Services Headquarters in Batmaloo, Srinagar, and Gandhinagar, Jammu, hosted comprehensive training programs in collaboration with the Health Department. These events aimed to equip emergency responders with essential first aid skills.

The program commenced with the National Anthem and a warm welcome from Dr. Abrar, Medical Officer of Fire & Emergency Services’ Medical Unit in Batmaloo, Srinagar.
The Health Department deployed medical teams in both Srinagar and Jammu to provide training to approximately 700 personnel, including jawans and officers from all Fire & Emergency Stations in the Union Territory. Participants received instruction on various aspects of first aid, such as specialized medical treatment, burn injuries, wound care, fracture management, handling unconscious individuals, and responding to electric shocks encountered during firefighting and rescue operations.
Alok Kumar, ADGP and Director of Fire & Emergency Services, J&K, lauded the efforts of the medical teams for their contributions to the training program on this World First Aid Day. He encouraged trainees to pass on their knowledge to fellow personnel, emphasizing the importance of promptly administering first aid to save lives during emergencies.
