Srinagar, July 04: To promote innovation and digital proficiency in academic research, the Department of Economics, University of Kashmir (KU), successfully concluded a week-long national workshop on “Tech-Enhanced Research: From Data Collection to Publication” at the main campus.In a statement issued here, the workshop, held from June 24 to July 01, aimed to equip scholars with advanced tools and methodologies in data handling, automation, visualization, and ethical research practices. It featured over 35 hours of hands-on sessions delivered by expert resource persons from reputed institutions such as University of Delhi, Aligarh Muslim University, O.P. Jindal Global University, CRRID Chandigarh. Topics included AI-driven research platforms, bibliometric tools like VOSviewer, reproducible research frameworks in R, digital data collection via KoboToolbox, and academic writing with LaTeX.Speaking at the valedictory session, Dean Academic Affairs KU, Prof. Shariefuddin Pirzada, said, “Workshops like these reflect the University’s resolve to integrate technology into research training and prepare our scholars for the digital academic environment.”Dean Research KU, Prof. Mohammad Sultan Bhat, at the inaugural session, appreciated the department’s continued focus on quality research training and remarked that such initiatives are vital for creating globally competitive scholars.Registrar KU, Prof. Naseer Iqbal, praised the practical structure of the workshop and its relevance in today’s academic world at the inaugural session.
