Anantnag, Oct 10: A tragic accident near Padshahbagh in the Bijbehara area of Anantnag district on Thursday morning resulted in the loss of a young woman’s life and left a motorcyclist injured. The accident occurred when their motorcycle collided with a truck.
The collision proved fatal for the lady pillion rider identified as Misbah Gulzar (25), daughter of Gulzar Ahmad Mantoo from Jablipora Bijbehara, an official said, adding that the injured motorcyclist, Bashir Ahmad Rah (42), son of Gh Qadir Rah and a resident of S.K Colony Anantnag, was immediately taken to the nearby sub-district hospital for medical attention.
Despite immediate medical assistance, the lady could not be saved, an official at the SDH said.
Police have initiated an investigation into the incident, registering a case under the relevant sections of the law.
