Srinagar, May 09: SSM College of Engineering conducted a “powerful” event on women empowerment and drug abuse which also featured special guests promoting their upcoming movie titled ‘Welcome To Kashmir’ on the same subject.
The film has been shot entirely in Kashmir with its lead actors, singers and director all hailing from Kashmir under the banner of Filmstock Creations. During the event, the students performed a skit on the menace of drug abuse and its ill effects, which was appreciated by one and all. Besides the college administration, HODs and faculty, a large number of students also were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Tariq Bhat spoke about the plot of the movie which will be released on May 26, 2023, through INOX. “The movie presents picture of Kashmir viz-a-viz its picturesque beauty, character of people, tourism potential and positive role people of Kashmir want to play in every field of activity leading to overall nation building,” the college said in a statement.
The lead actress of the movie Mateena Rajput also spoke about the film and its theme. Singer Ishfaq Kawa presented melodious songs on the occasion and thanked the management of SSM on behalf of the Filmstock Creations for encouragement of talented youth of the valley.
