Jammu, Apr 05: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary and Co-incharge of J&K Affairs, Manoj Yadav on Friday said that a wave of change is seen here in the Jammu region against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
“Due to this anti-BJP wave, there is panic in the saffron party, and its top leadership has been visiting Jammu & Kashmir,” Yadav said while releasing the ‘Naya Pattar’ (Guarantee Card) of Congress in a press conference held here.
He said that the AICC Incharge of J&K, Bharatsingh Solanki launched the door-to-door campaign in Gandhinagar Jammu on Friday along with Congress candidate Raman Balla and other prominent leaders of the party.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla hit out at the BJP for “betraying” the people of Jammu region. He referred to the issues of the refugees’ community and assured to fully support their demands.
“Every section of Jammu be it youth, farmers, traders, workers and women, are hard pressed and against the policies of the BJP government,” he said.
Bhalla said that the door-to-door campaign shall be intensified in all parts of the Jammu-Reasi constituency to educate the masses and the voters to teach a lesson to the BJP and local representatives who “did nothing” for the people in ten years.
If Congress comes to power, the salary of Anganwadi and Asha workers will be doubled, he promised, adding that the educated youth and poor women will get Rs one lakh per year.
Congress Chief Spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma said the party has promised to restore statehood to J&K immediately after coming to power in the manifesto apart from amending schedule VI for Ladakh.
The Congress party strongly criticised the “exploitation” of POJK refugees who it said were denied the benefits of the full package of 2014. They were given only one seat against the promise of eight seats but now are being deprived of their right to sell their land,” Sharma said,” adding that the Congress Party fully stands with the refugees/displaced community for their just demands.
