Ganderbal, Dec 22: The Department of Botany, Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir), organized an essay Competition on “Environmental Sustainability” under the aegis of ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047: Voice of Youth’ .
The event was conducted with the aim of fostering creativity and forward-thinking among the students about the importance of Environmental sustainability. The event provided a platform for the students to explore and present solutions to the challenging environment the nation may face in coming years. Students were provided with a conducive environment to express their innovative ideas for environmental sustainability.
Amongst the participants, Basharat Ali, Imran Rashid, and Shazia Gul got first, second, and third positions, respectively. Prof. Azra N. Kamili, congratulated the position holders and other participants and highlighted the importance of environmental sustainability in achieving the Viksit Bharat goal of 2047.
Dr. Rafiq Lone, Academic Coordinator, organized and conducted the event with the support of other faculty members.
IT deptt students visit NSIC
The Department of IT, Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir), organised an industrial training programme for the students at the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) in Chennai from 11th of November to 29th of November 2023.
NSIC specializes in the dynamic field of cybersecurity.
According to the department, the programme was tailored to enhance practical skills and industry knowledge of the students and proved to be a wonderful experience for them.
During their tour to NSIC, the students visited the state-of-the-art LG Lab and AI Lab, immersing themselves in the latest advancements in technology. Under the mentorship of seasoned professionals, the students not only deepened their understanding of cybersecurity, but also gained hands-on expertise crucial for the evolving digital landscape.
The department thanked the NSIC for facilitating the visit, and ensuring that students are well-equipped for the challenges and opportunities in the realm of cybersecurity and emerging technologies. The department also expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath and Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool, for their unflinching support.
