Jammu, July 18: The Jammu District Softball Association held its elections today at Jammu Club, electing new Office Bearers and Executive Committee members in accordance with the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council guidelines. The process was overseen by Election Officer Padam Dev Singh, Joint Secretary of JKSA and a prominent sports promoter.As per a statement issued here, the newly elected office bearers include chairperson-Veena Gupta, President–Mohinder Singh, first Vice President-Varinder Sambyal, second Vice President-Naveen Singh, Secretary- Pushpinder Singh (elected unanimously), Joint Secretary (Outstanding Sports Person Category)- Ajay Singh, second Joint Secretary- Pawan Sadotra, Treasurer- Yogesh Mahajan (elected unanimously). The Executive Committee Members—include Sachin Sharma, Jasbir Singh, Aman Bhau, Jaskaran Singh, Harleen Kour – former member of India’s national women’s team at the 2023 Asian Championship. Chairperson Veena Gupta assured full commitment to the development of softball in Jammu, stating that the sport would scale new heights under the collective leadership. She added that the present government is fully supportive of sports growth in the Union Territory. Secretary Pushpinder Singh expressed optimism about collaborative efforts to uplift athletes in the district, while President Mohinder Singh lauded the local talent and voiced confidence in their success at upcoming national events. Waseem Raja Khan, General Secretary of JKSA and Sudhir Singh, Member of the Disciplinary Commission (JKSA), attended the meeting as observers. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by newly elected Treasurer Yogesh Mahajan.
