Jammu, Jan 26: The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Jammu celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm at the Chamber House on Sunday, gathering hundreds of members and office bearers for a spirited commemoration of the nation’s sovereignty.
The event commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by Arun Gupta, president of the Chamber. The ceremony resonated with patriotic fervour, as the national anthem filled the air, accompanied by heartfelt salutations to the tricolour and in remembrance of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives to protect the territorial integrity of the nation.
In his address, Gupta reflected on the sacrifices made by freedom fighters who gave their lives for the nation, highlighting the significance of their contributions that have allowed the world’s largest democracy to flourish in freedom and self-esteem. He urged attendees to remember the struggle endured to liberate India from British rule.
“Republic Day is an auspicious occasion for our entire nation,” Gupta said, adding that the day is a festival marked by unity and diversity. He said the vibrant democracy of India thrives on the participation of people from various cultural backgrounds, embodying the essence of ‘Unity in Diversity.’
Gupta assured the members that the Chamber would work tirelessly to advance the development and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir, committing to leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of progress for the region.
