Srinagar, Aug 01: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference general secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar on Tuesday said robust organizational structure coupled with people’s support will provide a solid foundation for the party win in the upcoming ULB and Panchayat elections.
According to a statement, Sagar met senior party functionaries from Kashmir Province at JKNC headquarters, Nawa-e-Subha, Srinagar. Apart from organisational matters, forthcoming Panchayat, ULB elections were discussed in detail during the meeting.
Interacting with the leaders, Sagar said, “Robust organizational structure and people’s support, is indeed the first step towards de-freezing the otherwise frozen electoral front in Jammu and Kashmir. These local body elections are not a substitute to the assembly elections, however, we as a responsible party with a deep-rooted base across the region cannot allow BJP and its lackeys to occupy the democratic spaces.”
“People want transparency in administration, they want facilities, they want easy access to power corridors. People have made it a point to punish them who imposed harsh taxes on them, those who undermined the institutions to run away from transparency and accountability,” he said.
Senior leaders Nazir Ahmed Khan Gurezi, Peer Afaq, Mohammad Khalil Bandh, Ahsan Pardesi, Pir Muhammad Hussain, Dr. Sajad Shafi Uri, Advocate Neelofar Masood, Sardar JS Azad were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, a delegation from Bandipur called on the party’s provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani Sogami here. The constituency In charge Bandipora Adv Nazir Malik, Tanvir Bhutoo, Gh Ahmed Malik, and DDC Mewa Jaan were present on the occasion. Among other issues, organizational matters, public issues and prevailing political situation in North Kashmir were discussed threadbare.
