Srinagar, Oct 16: A day after a man was stabbed and injured in the Jawahar Nagar area of Srinagar, the Srinagar police announced on Monday that they had arrested the assailant.
The Srinagar police posted on their official Twitter account that, during the investigation of FIR no 45/2023 at Rajbagh Police Station, two suspects, Umer Fayaz Sheikh, son of Fayaz Sheikh from Ikhrajpora, and Imran Mushtaq Wani, son of Mushtaq Wani from Jawahar Nagar, were arrested for the stabbing of youth in Jawahar Nagar on October 14, 2023. The weapon used in the attack has also been recovered.
Previously, a man identified as Sahil Ahmad Dar from Solina was injured after an unknown person attacked him near DAV School in Jawahar Nagar. Shortly after the attack, he was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, where he is currently receiving medical care.
The police had already registered an FIR at Rajbagh Police Station and apprehended two individuals in connection with the incident. A police officer confirmed the arrests and stated that an investigation had been launched to determine the circumstances that led to this incident.
