Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday said to have arrested two drug peddlers in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A Police spokesperson said, “Continuing its efforts against the menace of drug trafficking, Police Station Baramulla apprehended two drug peddlers at a checkpoint established at Kanthbagh near DPL Baramulla.”
They were coming from Khawajabagh towards Baramulla.On seeing the said party they tried to flee, but were apprehended tactfully.
Upon search, contraband Charas like substance, weighing about 100 grams was recovered from their possession. The accuseds upon questioning revealed their name as 1.Javid Ahmed Sheikh son of Abdul Majeed Sheikh and 2. Sameer Ahmed Sheikh son of Mohd Subhan Sheikh. Both are the residents of Khawajabagh Baramulla. In this regard,case with FIR nr 40/2025 U/S 8/20 NDPS act stands registered in PS Baramulla and further investigation is had been set in motion.
Baramulla Police remains committed to eradicating drug abuse and trafficking from the district. Public is urged to cooperate and report any suspicious activity to the nearest Police Station.
