Two doctors assigned interim cardiologist roles at GMC Baramulla

Baramulla, Jul 25: In a move aimed at strengthening cardiac care services, Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla has issued an interim deployment order assigning two doctors to function as cardiologists in the Department of General Medicine at the Associated Hospital.According to Office Order No. 188 GMC(BLA) of 2025, dated July 25, Dr Ouber Qayoom, currently serving as a Casualty Medical Officer and holding a DNB in Cardiology, and Dr Mustafa Bashir, Senior Resident with a DNB in Cardiology, have been directed to function as cardiologists in the department.The decision has been taken in the interest of administration and to ensure better patient care. As per the order, Dr Qayoom has been asked to report to the Department of General Medicine at Associated Hospital, GMC Baramulla, with immediate effect.Hospital authorities believe the deployment will help in the optimal utilisation of specialist services and improve the quality of cardiac care available to patients.
