A two days UT level seminar on scientific Beekeeping organized by Agriculture Department Kashmir and sponsored by National Bee Board (NBB) under National Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM) commenced today at Kashmir Haat, Srinagar.
The seminar was inaugurated by Vice chairperson Khadi and village industries development board (KVIB), Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat.
In her inaugural address, the VC KVIB highlighted the role of modern technology in present day Beekeeping. She asked the young educated farmers to come forward and take benefit from the government schemes in the field of Beekeeping.
She informed the participants that (KVIB) is providing training to young entrepreneurs in small scale agriculture Cottage industries like Beekeeping. She said that by adopting Beekeeping in addition to general farming compliments to the overall income of the farm operating families.
