Transform villages with Panchayat Dhok Waziran’s model: LG

Jammu, Dec 01: In a resounding endorsement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unwavering commitment to achieving 100% saturation of government schemes, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has called upon citizens to actively participate in the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.’ The Lieutenant Governor urged attendees to make the most of on-the-spot services and disseminate vital information about these schemes.
Commending the enthusiastic engagement of PRI representatives and attendees at the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ held at Panchayat Dhok Waziran in Nagrota, Lt Governor Sinha encouraged them to raise awareness about government schemes and facilitate the enrolment of potential beneficiaries.
Lt Governor Sinha stressed the importance of replicating the successful practices of Panchayat Dhok Waziran to develop model villages comprehensively, aiming for improved livelihoods, enhanced quality of life, and community involvement for a content, prosperous, and peaceful Panchayat.
Emphasising on the need for individual success stories to reach every corner of the Union Territory, Lt Governor Sinha showcased the transformation brought about by the government’s flagship schemes in people’s lives. Through integrated action and individual involvement, he believed that villages could be transformed into economically viable and sustainable centres, creating opportunities for youth, women, farmers, and vulnerable sections.
Addressing the Jammu and Kashmir government’s commitment to ensuring welfare benefits for the poor and weaker sections, Lt Governor Sinha spotlighted the allocation of five Marla land to poor landless beneficiaries under PMAY (G).
At the event, sarpanch Raman Wazir and beneficiaries from Panchayat Dhok Waziran shared first hand experiences, expressing gratitude for the extended benefits under various government schemes. Lt Governor Sinha, amidst visiting department stalls and witnessing a drone demonstration, also presented certificates of registration to members of newly created Farmer Producers Organisations.
The occasion also witnessed the administration administering the ‘Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat’ pledge.
Among those present on the included Bharat Bhushan, Chairman District Development Council Jammu; Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu; Dr Piyush Singla, Secretary Revenue; Sachin Kumar Vaishya, Deputy Commissioner Jammu; Shakti Pathak, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, along with senior officers, PRI members, and a large number of people.
