Srinagar, May 29: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) hosted the inaugural function of 8-day long Training program on “Soil Quality Analysis-Lets Know Our Soil” sponsored by the SERB, DST, Govt of India program” at Division of Soil Science, SKUAST-K, Shalimar.
The programme is designed to teach and train the Post graduate students from various agricultural fields about the soil quality analysis and the various laboratory determinations for the Physical, Chemical and Biological properties of the soils.
25 participants from various parts of India and various areas of Kashmir joined the programme to gain a comprehensive understanding of Soil Quality Analysis for sustainable agriculture, and saving our soils from degradation and erosion effects.
The program was graced by Dean Student Welfare, Dr. R.A Shardaar as chief guest, who emphasized on the importance of Soil Quality Analysis for the viable agricultural practices and as an opportunity for the entrepreneurship of the agricultural youths. Dr. Muzaffar Ah. Malik, Prof. & Head of the Division welcomed the guests and the participants. The Course Director, Dr. Shaista Nazir talked about the significance of the training program and Dr. Aziz Mujtaba delivered the vote of thanks.
