Srinagar, Aug 21: One-day training program on “Production practices of important temperate fruit crops” and input distribution was conducted by ICAR-CITH in collaboration with KVK Shopian.
The program was attended by Dr Sajad Un Nabi Scientist (Plant Pathology), Dr Muneer Ahmad Sheikh, STO from CITH, Dr Mir Shabir Ahmad and Dr Shaiq Ahmad Ganai from KVK Shopian and fifty tribal farmers.
The Scientists from CITH, briefed the farmers about the different Schemes of ICAR-CITH for the upliftment of tribal farmers. They discussed about the importance of integration of different stone fruits with apple farming for their sustainability. The farmers were sensitized about the management and control of new diseases with their cooperation and coordination.
During the programme, 50 Knapsack sprayer and pruner saws was distributed to fifty tribal farmers, free of cost. Scientist Animal Science, Dr Mir Shabir appraised the participants about the role of Krishi Vigyan Kendra in technology dissemination.
