Srinagar, Jan 06: A 42-day long intensive MSME training programme titled ‘Millets Renaissance: Revitalizing Cultivation and Value Addition Practices for Entrepreneurship” from November 25, 2024 to January 6, 2025 concluded Monday at the faculty of Agriculture, SKUAST-K, Wadura.
The program concluded with a grand valedictory function that was coordinated by Dr. Amal Saxena, Prof and Head, Division of Agronomy, faculty of Agriculture. A statement issued here said that the programme empowered participants with theoretical knowledge and hands-on training to harness the potential of millets as a sustainable entrepreneurial venture.
“The training aimed to revive the cultivation of millets and promote innovative value addition practices. The practical sessions, combined with expert guidance, have prepared attendees to become key players in the millet industry, contributing to sustainable agriculture and rural development,” it said.
The statement said that the valedictory function was graced by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Raihana Habib Kanth as the Chief Guest, who lauded the initiative. In her address, the Dean highlighted the immense benefits of the programme, emphasizing its role in equipping participants with the skills to contribute to the agricultural and entrepreneurial sectors.
The event began with a warm welcome address along with training report by Dr Lal Singh, Professor (Agronomy), followed by insightful feedback shared by participants, reflecting on their transformative learning experiences during the training. The function concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Tahir Ahmed Shiekh.
