JAMMU, DEC 26: The training of the Aapda Mitra CSS “Up-Scaling of Aapda Mitra” is in full swing in the Central Training Institute (HG, CD, SDRF) Kot Bhalwal. The course for the 7th Batch comprising 139 volunteers hailing from different districts of Jammu Province began on Monday.
Randheer Singh, SSP, CO SDRF, while speaking on the occasion, highlighted the objectives of this GOI scheme. He sensitized the volunteers about their roles and responsibility. He shared the schedule of training to be imparted which includes a visit to Akhnoor for water rescue training, to Samba for mountaineering rescue training, to SDRF Bn HQ and also to the Directorate of Fire and Emergency services.
It was also informed that till date, 6 batches comprising 590 volunteers from Jammu Province have been trained and till March 2023. It is expected that 1500 community volunteers shall be trained for disaster response.
Dy.SP Ashok Sharma thanked all the stakeholders for their kind cooperation and support in organizing this training.
