Srinagar, July 13:The Traffic Police Headquarters, Jammu and Kashmir, has issued a detailed traffic plan and advisory for July 14, in view of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, variable weather conditions and ongoing maintenance on several key highways.
A statement issued here said that as per the traffic plan for July 14, subject to fair weather, Amarnath Yatra convoys, LMVs, private cars will be allowed from both directions on National Highway (Jammu to Srinagar). “HMVs will be allowed on alternate days only, with TCU Jammu and Srinagar coordinating with TCU Ramban.Cut-off Timings for LMVs/Passenger Cars–Nagrota (Jammu) to Srinagar6:00 hrs – 12:00 hrs, Jakheni (Udhampur) to Srinagar07:00 hrs – 13:00 hrs, Qazigundto Jammu 11:30 hrs – 14:00 hrs. No vehicle shall be permitted before or after cut-off times,” the advisory reads.
It states that for HMVs, load carriers, HMVs will be allowed from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar after road assessment. “No HMV movement permitted after 19:00 hrs.In view of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, the UT Administration has directed that tankers (petrol/diesel/LPG), FCI empty trucks, and vehicles (loaded/empty) up to 10 tyres must return via Mughal Road, per Divisional Commissioner Kashmir’s advisory,” the advisory reads. “For Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag (NH-244), LMVs and HPSVs allowed from both sides (Anantnag to Kishtwar), subject to NHIDCL clearance.”
The timing for travel will be Parana to Anantnag: 08:00 hrs – 16:00 hrs and Daksum to Kishtwar: 09:00 hrs – 15:00 hrs. “No HMV (except designated HPSVs) allowed as per SDM orders,” the advisory reads. “SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri) will be open for regulated movement, subject to BRO clearance.Minamarg to Srinagar: 05:00 hrs – 10:00 hrs, Sonamargto Kargil: 11:30 hrs – 17:30 hrs. No vehicle will be permitted post cut-off,” the advisory further states. “For Mughal Road, it will be open both-side LMV traffic (Jammu to Srinagar via Poonch), subject to weather.HMVs (up to 10 tyres) allowed only from Shopian to Poonch between 07:00 hrs – 18:00 hrs, as per DivCom Kashmir’s advisory.” Travellers are strongly advised to confirm the status of roads before commencing journey.
