Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday seized five tractors and arrested three persons for illegal excavation and transportation of minerals in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
A Police spokesperson said that Police Station Beerwah received an information that some persons were carrying out illegal excavation and transportation of minerals from Nallah Sukhnag at village Kanigund. Accordingly, police party raided the specific location and seized 05 tractors and arrested 03 drivers on spot however 02 drivers fled from the spot.
Police identified the arrested drivers as Shahid Ahmad Shah S/O Bashir Ahmad R/O Takiya Lalpora, Shabir Ahmad Lone S/O Ghulam Ahmad R/O Mashun and Hilal Ahmad Bhat S/Gh Mohammad R/O Mashun.
“Case FIR number 28/2023 under relevant sections of law stands registered against the accused at Police station Beerwah and investigation set into motion”, he said.
