Ganderbal, Mar11: Under the guidance of Secretary District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal and chaired by Essar-Ul-Nabi, Chairman of Tehsil Legal Services Committee Kangan, an awareness programme was organized on “International Women’s Day” at the conference Hall of Block Office Kangan on Monday.
The event witnessed the participation of workers from the ICDS Department, women from various walks of life, Dr. Insha from Trauma Hospital Kangan, President of the ST Wing Human Rights &Anti-Corruption Forum Jammu & Kashmir, Farooq Ahmad Khatana, along with other members of the forum, officials, lawyers, and PLVs of Tehsil Legal Services Committee Kangan.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Insha highlighted the importance of empowering women, stressing the need for women to fight for their rights and equality in all spheres of society.
ICDS Officer Shahzada Bano emphasized the significant roles women play as daughters, wives, and mothers, emphasizing the importance of honesty, sincerity, and education for women to discern between right and wrong.
Advocate Sajad Ahmad Khan shed light on the legal rights of women, emphasizing their entitlement to free legal aid and discussing prevalent issues such as domestic violence.
As the Chief Guest, Essar-Ul-Nabi underscored the significance of International Women’s Day, calling for the education and empowerment of women as crucial for the progress of society. He urged parents to instill moral values in their children and emphasized the importance of involving women in decision-making processes across all fields. He stressed the need to treat women with respect and dignity, urging society to recognize their importance and ensure they live with honor and equality.
