Srinagar, Mar 07: Welcoming the launch of JK Attendance Application, a delegation of the Teachers from Srinagar met Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Tasaduq Hussain Mir in his office chambers on Tuesday and applauded him for this new accountability system.
The delegation said that there was an urgent need to introduce this attendance system for effective management of the human resource in the department.
Terming the system as a comprehensive, it said that the real-time record of the employees will have long-term results for the department.
While praising the initiative, the delegation commended the efforts of the DSEK in the past and in the present for taking number of initiatives in revolutionizing the department. It stressed over the effective use of this new system to improve the work culture in the in department.
On the occasion, the delegation submitted a detailed memorandum to the DSEK wherein it requested School Education Department to work towards the implementation of Departmental Examinations for Promotions in the department.
It also raised the issue of dearth of non-teaching staff in the schools, especially in high and higher secondary schools, in the Srinagar district and requested DSEK to rationalise the said staff which has been concentrated in limited institutions.
While highlighting the issue of AAYAS and Master to Headmaster promotion, the delegation requested for early completion of the process for the convenience of the students and the schools. It also raised the issue of teacher trainings which, as per the delegation, are not being carried out in an equal and fair manner.
Citing the scrapping of SRO-202, the delegation highlighted the issue of increments during the probationary period which were denied under now-scrapped SRO rules, and requested the DSEK to take up the matter with the concerned quarter. Moreover, it also pointed the pay anomaly faced by the teachers in JK in respect to other UTs across India.
The delegation also stressed over strengthening the LPDs in the schools and relaxing the process for permission to acquire higher qualifications by the in-service employees.
The Director gave a patient hearing to all these issues and assured that he will look into these issues and will issue necessary directions in this matter.
