BJP General Secretary Tarun Chugh has taken a sharp dig at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) following its defeat in the Delhi bypolls, calling it a punishment by the People of Delhi to those who looted Delhi in the form of ‘AAP-da’.
Chugh said that the people of Delhi have decisively rejected those who “looted” the city, referring to AAP as “AAP-da.”
He said that the Congress had already faced a humiliating defeat in Delhi, failing to secure even a single seat. Chugh asserted that voters are continuously responding to those who “defame the country” and that Delhi’s electoral results mark the end of Arvind Kejriwal’s “politics of lies and hypocrisy.”
The BJP leader also claimed that people in Punjab are eager to oust AAP from power, signaling broader discontent with the party beyond Delhi. He described the defeat of the opposition INDI alliance in Delhi as the “last nail in the coffin” for the coalition, suggesting its political relevance is fading.
Chugh’s remarks come amid growing tensions between BJP and the opposition, with the results seen as a significant setback for AAP and its allies.
